Bel Monte Endurance Run

For the second time in as many weeks, GOALS team members Abby Perkiss and Brent Freedland headed south of the Mason-Dixon Line, this time to take on the Bel Monte Endurance Run in Shenandoah’s George Washington National Forest.

The trails were steep and the terrain technical.  Abby, running with a friend, tackled 31.4 miles and 12,600 feet of elevation.  Brent, who decided at the last minute to sign up for the 25k race, was on pace for a podium finish before a tough fall took him down.  He ultimately finished 12th overall, winning the Male 20-29 age group.

A spectacular day, and an excellent early-season training session.
