To kick off the 2011 season, GOALS ARA traveled down to Front Royal for a new 26 hour race. REV3, a successful tri-company, is wading into the waters of adventure racing, and it was a wet first race for racers and directors alike. Massive storms dramatically altered the course, but it turned out to be a successful first race for them, and a relatively good one for us too. Bruce, Abby and Brent teamed up with Brian Reiss from Adventure Pocono, and had a great time, finishing in 4th place in about 15:30 hours. The course was beautiful and fun, especially the outstanding foot O-section, and the organization did a great job with the design and logistics for a first race. We may not have been in top shape physically, but it was a great way to start the year. Congratulations to all the racers, including Team SOG, NYARA and ImONPoint for their terrific finishes, and a huge thanks to REV3 for an early season epic.
